“In a very real way, designers create the human environment; they make the things we use, the places we live and work, our modes of communication and mobility. Simply put, design matters."— William McDonough

Design and Technology (D&T) at Key Stage 3 is designed to inspire students to become creative problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and responsible designers. Through a combination of practical projects and theoretical learning, students gain insight into how products are conceived, developed, and evaluated in real-world contexts. The curriculum encourages innovation, sustainability, and collaboration across three main areas: Product Design, Textiles, and Food & Nutrition.
