We all have mental health. It affects how we feel, think, and act, and refers to our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. Because your mental health can change on a daily basis and is affected by many different factors, it’s important to have the right tools to look after it. The links below provide advice and guidance to help you navigate these changes. They provide direct resources, a parents helpline, and advocacy for young people up to age 25. Their work includes campaigning, providing online information, and supporting professionals to ensure young people get necessary mental health support.

Josephine's Star

Josephine’s Star offer support to children and their families in Somerset when someone special has died. They provide one-to-one support, based around six, one-hour support sessions.  In each session they work with the child to explore their grief and help them to develop coping strategies. All of our work is done in conjunction with the families, carers and schools to ensure the most positive outcome for the children and young people.

Kooth is a free, anonymous, and confidential digital mental health platform for young people (typically aged 10-25) in the UK, providing live counseling, messaging, and community support. It operates 365 days a year, offering professional advice via smartphones or computers to help with emotional wellbeing.

Mind in Somerset

Mind in Somerset is an independent local mental health charity affiliated with national Mind, providing support, services, and advocacy for people affected by mental health issues across the county. They offer a 24/7 mental health helpline (Mindline), peer support groups, counseling, and crisis spaces in locations such as Taunton, Yeovil, and Bridgwater to enhance wellbeing.
