Student Support

Do you enjoy working with young people? Would you value the opportunity to work in a school and support students with Special Educational Needs in class? Preston School is looking for volunteers to provide in-class support and work with young people with Special Educational needs to help them achieve their potential

Translators (Polish to English)

Are you fluent in speaking Polish and English and available to assist if and when required.

All volunteers must be over 18 years of age and have no criminal record. A CRB check will be carried out.

School Counsellor
Grade 12 (£10.71 per hour)
7 hours per week – term time only (39 weeks pa)
8.30 am – 4.00 pm with 30 mins lunch
This post is available as soon as possible and is initially for a temporary period of 6 months

Candidates for the post ideally should have:

  • An awareness of the current issues within education.
  • An understanding of the needs of individual pupils.
  • Experience of working with young people in the capacity of Counsellor.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office + SIMS.NET.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting students, aged 11-16. We have a caring ethos at Preston School and the School Counsellor is a key role in ensuring both student and staff welfare. Applicants must hold a counselling qualification.
